Founded in 1996 by long-time electrical AND mechanical registered professional engineers, SAI is a "well-rounded" MEP design discipline led organization. Choosing a firm with extensive MEP expertise is essential to a project's short and long-term success. In 2010, a CFO was named, becoming a critical component of SAI's successful business model as a Smart And Intelligent engineering firm without the clutter of a large organization.

In planning the construction or renovation of a building, the choice of an engineering firm is often secondary to the architect. When the air conditioning does not cool properly, the building power quality is unacceptable or fails altogether or noise levels are so loud that they cause distraction, the importance of the engineering becomes obvious.
